Favorites: Coffee Brands

Small joy: Today I found a free coffee maker. What’s your small joy today?

Today I want to share a bit about my favorite coffee brands! I grew up on Folgers Black Colombian coffee, and while it was sufficient for my 15 year old self, I didn’t know what I was missing in the great world of coffee brands and flavors! I also love supporting small businesses and good causes.

My number one FAVORITE coffee brand is La Colombe Coffee Roasters (www.lacolombe.com). I found La Colombe through a local coffee shop in Mulvane, KS. La Colombe started with the mission to bring better coffee to America by traveling across the world and finding the best coffee. The CEO, Todd Carmichael, is passionate about supporting social causes.

La Colombe’s Afrique blend is incredible cold brewed for 16-20 hours. It is the perfect medium roast blend with hints of cocoa, raspberry, and toasted coconut. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this blend for the first time because I typically do not like the taste of coconut in my coffee.

Another fantastic coffee brand is Pennant Coffee Roasters (www.pennantcoffee.com), located in McPherson, KS. On the seldom occasion that I want a cup of hot black coffee my go to is their Six Two Zero blend. It has a slight sweet undertone that makes it perfect to drink without heavy creamers.

Those are just a few of my favorite local coffee brands! What is your favorite coffee brand? Local or not?

  1. For real, there are just so many roasts of coffee to choose from. I’ve been going through all the flavors and roasts offered at the Cook’s Nook in McPherson, and each one is so totally different that I have a hard time choosing a favorite. Are there any specific creamers you like to use in your coffee? (I enjoy using sweetened condensed milk in mine sometimes)

  2. This is an amazing article, I love to hear about all the different types of coffee. I am a black coffee drinker myself and have been ever since I was young. I do occasionally like to try something crazy and off the wall, so it was super interesting to read about the La Colombe Coffee brand and can’t wait to read about more!

  3. Girl, lets be real. Folgers is fake coffee, it truly is cheap and equipped to just be able to buy bulk coffee for cheap. So glad you have moved on from that and are trying new and different things. Never heard of La Colombe Coffee but I would love to try it, do you order it or pick it up? I will also have to try the Pennant Coffee Roasters, I often enjoy black coffee and would love to try a bland you would have black yourself. Thanks for the information!
