Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving and had some good coffee! I just got back from a 16 day trip KS->FL->WV->KS and had to get creative with my coffee choices!
My biggest tip of getting coffee at gas stations while traveling is to know what’s decent and what’s not. Travel centers typically have pretty good drip coffee, smaller gas stations not so much. So be cautious! My gas stations of choice to get drip coffee at are QuikTrip, Pilot, and 24/7. I typically try to avoid Marathon and Flying J!
Something I did this trip was I brought my own cold brew. I filled up my cold cup with concentrated cold brew and cream. When we stopped at a gas station I would get a cup full of ice with a little bit of water and then pour some of my concentrated cold brew in it! It kept cold really well (when we stopped I’d bring my cold cup into the hotel and put it in the mini fridge) and lasted longer because it was concentrate.
My favorite thing to do when traveling is to stop at coffee shops I haven’t tried before. This trip I didn’t have many opportunities but I did try Joffrey’s cold brew. I had never heard of this particular chain but it was pretty decent!
What are you favorite places to get coffee when you travel? Lemme know in the comments!
I enjoy visiting new coffee shops too! Whenever I’m passing through a new place I like trying a new shop if given a chance. The last place I tried was Blackbird coffee in Topeka.

I’m pretty uncultured when it comes to coffee so I must ask: why do you try to avoid Marathon and Flying J?

Short answer? Their coffee is gross. 😂

I really enjoy reading your posts. I am a big coffee drinker but don’t like to try a lot of new coffee so love to here where the best places to try are. I am setting a goal to try new and different coffee so thanks for the advice!

Coffee is something you love and it clearly inspires you to do things. Well in my case i like coffee a lot, but when I travel I drink a different kinda drink. I love “mate”, it is an Argentinian te, I can drink it for hours and never get tired, the only problem is that sometime you will need to make a bathroom stop haha. Thanks for sharing this, I will try to start getting coffee on my trips.
